Our marking knives are made from ?Yasuki-Hagane?, laminated white high carbon steel with an SK steal backing.
White carbon steel is easy to sharpen and produces a very sharp long lasting edge
We have hand selected this Japanese Kasaya marking knife to be perfectly suited to marking out dovetails, the laminated hammer tone blade is very thin to enable better sighting and flat ground on the back side to register true against a marking gauge. The cutting edge comes to a very fine point and is double bevelled then polished to produce the legendary level of sharpness you expect from a Japanese edge tool.
